Vicki Bergelt had a good web site but wasn't getting the search engine attention or traffic she wanted. Your Computer Lady built a new site in WordPress. We retained the great design but made the site more consistent. We put Vicki's blog right on the site instead of it being a separate site. This pulls all of her traffic to one place which will in turn generate more traffic.
One powerful feature of the ScottsdaleDesigner site is the Glimpse page which includes a great photo gallery. Vicki's work as an interior designer is very visual. So the site had to show off her designs. The photo gallery we used allows us to show a lot of oversized thumbnails which open into full size photos. It's good software that Vicki can update on her own.
In fact, 90% of the site can be edited by Vicki at any time she wants. Structural or navigational work still needs to be done by a programmer. This is a big advantage of WordPress sites. The site owner or a non-HTML person can edit the site. It gives you the ability to keep the site fresh with new and changing content while keeping your programmer costs down.
Finally, we incorporated links to LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter to encourage visitors to share the tips and information they learn from Vicki's site.
